"How the name Chapel of the Twin Hearts was chosen"

If we look closely at the façade of the chapel, it will remind us of the Miraculous Medal, because of the front stair case forming the letter M with the cross above it. The architect, Crisbeni Artajo, was not aware of the outcome of the facade, not until it was finished and was told that it looked like the symbol of the Miraculous Medal. The Philippines is instrumental for the devotion to the Twin Hearts, which was established after St. John Paul II was shot on May 13, 1981. He appealed to the Filipino people that the first Saturday of the month be a day of peace in the world. The Filipino people accepted his request and added that the first Friday of the month will also be offered to the most Sacred Heart of Jesus, thus the Twin Heart Devotion was born. Inside this chapel are the paintings of the Twin Hearts. In between these two paintings is a statue of the Holy Family. The Holy Family reminds us the importance of the family unit. The two oil paintings was also part of God’s divine intervention. Ms. Estrella purchased the paintings in 2007 in Chicago, Illinois and kept it not knowing that someday it will make its home in the “Chapel of the Twin Hearts”.
